Artist's impression of how junction ten could look in 2020
I have today met with the Chief Executive of Highways England, Jim O’Sullivan to get an update on improving connectivity in Telford.
The link road on the M6 has received approved funding and is intended to help people access the south bound M6 Toll. It is not likely to disrupt traffic flows and work is schedule to start in 2020. This is good news for Telford as it will enhance connectivity with London.
Junction 10 improvements have been brought forward by 12 months to April 2019. I welcome this news as currently there is significant congestion and traffic delays, particularly during morning and evening peak times. The plans in place aim to reduce congestion and queues to create a freer-flowing road network. This will support economic growth and jobs and connect businesses and communities in Telford by improving access to the M6 both North and South bound.
